Today we found ourselves in a relatively slow news day as the DC Beltway was in the midst of a lot of speculation on just how the AHCA was going to fail. After wholeheartedly embracing it, the White House must have realized that it really wasn't a healthcare bill after all and is asking the media not to label it "TrumpCare." And now this from Jim Acosta:
1. Those are terrific numbers if the BLS report matches them.
2. They provide additional evidence of the strength of the economy that Trump inherited from President Obama.
3. Didn't Trump run on the assertion that the economy is in shambles? Why would he want to compare his first set of job numbers to that of Obama's 2015 numbers?
4. Given that the margin of error on job reports is typically around 100,000 jobs, having the ADP numbers beat expectations by less than 100,000 is absolutely meaningless.
I'll wait for the official numbers to come out on Friday before I assign any credit or blame to Trump.
Catch you on the flip side.
So Trump decided to change the subject by focusing on the job reports from LinkedIn and ADP. While there are significant correlations between those two and the offical BLS report, no President in my memory has ever touted those two agencies over the official report. But it didn't stop this so-called-president from doing just that:Trump told Tea Party groups at WH if GOP health care plan dies, he will let Obamacare fail and let Dems take the blame, I'm told.— Jim Acosta (@Acosta) March 9, 2017
LinkedIn Workforce Report: January and February were the strongest consecutive months for hiring since August and September 2015— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 8, 2017
A few observations:Great news. We are only just beginning. Together, we are going to #MAGA! https://t.co/BSp685Q9Qf pic.twitter.com/K7yeBZsf6r— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 8, 2017
