So the House Republicans have to run ads aimed at the constituents of members of their own party.
It means Paul Ryan is legitimately worried about whether or not Trumpkill/Republicare/whatever else you might want to call it will pass.
We have to make sure it doesn't. The bill is essentially a kamikaze attack on the welfare of 30 million or more Americans (including me!). This is the most reckless thing I've seen the Republicans do in my lifetime, and I've lived through the Bush tax cuts, the Iraq War, and the games of debt ceiling chicken.
So here's what you need to do:
I've called my Representative, Hakeem Jeffries. Please take the time to call yours.
UPDATE (3/9/2017, 12:38 PM): Ryan's definitely afraid this won't pass:
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) held an unusual press conference Thursday as he attempted to quell opposition to the bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which since its debut Monday has come under fire from doctors, nurses, hospitals, the elderly, insurers, conservative lawmakers and conservative activists.
.
.
.
Beaming at the dozens of reporters gathered in the Capitol basement room—and especially at the cameras at the back broadcasting his message on most major cable networks—Ryan said Republicans right now have "a once in a lifetime opportunity."
"This is the closest we will ever get to repealing and replacing Obamacare," he said.
Now or never, folks. Let's make it never. Make those calls!
