Friday Links -- 4/21/2017

Just like on Mondays when I'm *trying* to start the week with the stories I'm planning to follow, I'm also going to attempt to close the week on Fridays with some links to either interesting stories that didn't get enough attention, or new perspectives on the ones that didn't. (Note: even though I am a huge proponent of having regular features on a site, publication or show, I'm REALLY bad at getting them done myself, unlike Ari who's been pumping out the Combovers 5-6 days a week on the regular since January).

• Daily Kos member Mopshell wrote a very illuminating piece on the links between Republican megadonors the Koch Brothers, Russia, and Kris Kobach, the anti-immigrant, racist Secretary of State who has been working for years to suppress the votes of Democratic voters all over the country. Also of note is the inclusion of the 1980 Libertarian Party platform (when David Koch was their VP nominee). It reads like a list of all of the things that Republicans believe but aren't supposed to say publicly. Or at least weren't before the last few years.

• Ed and Gin and Tacos excoriates left-wing voters who cast protest votes for candidates other than Jon Ossoff inthe GA-06 special election.
  
• Vacuumslayer at Lawyers, Guns & Money tears apart a Caitlin Flanagan article in which puts on quite a show of bothsiderism about the political discourse of talk show hosts.
  
• I don't know if this is real, but if it is, I will both laugh and cry at the same time:

• Hadn't seen this before, but it did not help my view of Bernie Sanders, which has been deteriorating already:

You see, the overwhelming majority of the rank-and-file of the GOP are unsalvageably fucked-in-the-head.  They are happily brainwashed nitwits and racists who would gladly belly-flop their entire family into a live volcano if Fox News told them to and would spent their last moments on this Earth before being incinerated into iconoclastic ash cursing Obama or Clinton or Nancy Pelosi or Susan Rice for the ouch ouch burning.
