AOL and Yahoo! Jettisoning Their Marketing Departments

That's the only explanation for this:

AOL and Yahoo will merge their services into a company called "Oath," Business Insider reported on Monday.

I don't care much about this other than the antitrust aspect of it, and I'm no marketing guru, but I'm pretty that name is objectively terrible.

On the other hand, maybe Yahoo!'s marketing team was awful and are the ones being retained in the merger:
In January, Yahoo announced that it would change part of the company's name to “Altaba.”

Yikes.  I'm going to guess this merger is not going to be pretty for Verizon.
